Silence is easy..

I’m so sorry that I’ve been totally MIA for so long now, but so much has happened.
Basically, my grandpa got admitted to the hospital just a few days after we got home from Germany. For over a year, he’s been battling leukemia on one of the earliest stages and for a long time it looked like it wasn’t going to progress into something, but then it did start escalating in the beginning of the summer. Everything got worse as he had some bleedings in his head, which meant that he couldn’t see properly or talk right. And meanwhile, the chemo didn’t work, so the leukemia just got worse and worse. And yeah, I’m not really into telling a more detailed version of everything, because it really hurts. But anyways, he died last week! :( That was definitely one of the worst days of my life, but as it couldn’t be any different, I’m glad it happened like it did. We were all there around him, holding his hands and he slowly stopped breathing just as the sun was setting. But my heart hurts so much these days and I miss him more than words can describe already.
I don’t feel like thinking any more about it right now, so I’m just gonna leave this blog as it is – ending it with a promise of more blogs to come in the future..

Hello everyone :)

I’m back from a wonderful vacation in the Berlin area of Germany! A detailed blog with pictures will be up as soon as possible :)

Hope you’re all enjoying your summer breaks as well!

Birthday!!!! :D

The fact that I haven’t written this blog yet makes me such a horrible blogger. But yeah, it was my birthday on June 17th which is quite a while back now! I had an awesome day – the best day I’ve had in a long time actually! But I guess that how a birthday is supposed to be, right? :P Anyways, in case you’re wondering, here are some pictures of the things I got!

This amazing bookcase I got from my lovely parents. I love it so much and now I finally don’t have to hide most of my books in my closet, ha ha :P

Books and dvds- gotta love it! The books are written by a Danish writer and they’re crime/thriller novels which I love! They’re amazing, definitely recommended! (I’ve read them before and I loved them so much that I really wanted to have them myself :P). Got them from my parents btw. The Time Traveler’s Wife is one of my favorite movies so I’m really happy that I finally got it on dvd! It was from my amazing grandparents! And last, but definitely not least, I got the entire first season of True Blood from the wonderful Nina. I love it – it’s such an awesome show!!

I finally got a bag for my camera, which I desperately needed! I got this from my parents and I looooove it :)

Then I got the Toni&Guy Rapid Response Leave-In Conditioner, which is amazing! My hair always looks frizzy and dry after I’ve showered but this really helps it look way more healthy and tamed :) This was from my grandparents as well! And then I also got the Loreal Lash Renewal Serum, which is supposed to make your lashes stronger over time, but I obviously haven’t been using it for more than a few weeks so I can’t really tell if it’s working yet.. I got that one and a gift card to our local make up/drugstore from my uncle, his girlfriend and my cousins + some samples and stuff ;)

These two things were also from Nina – she got me way more stuff than I deserve! She’s amazing, though ;) But yeah, Adventureland on dvd, such a cute movie! And then an awesome book: The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. I borrowed this book from her last summer and I’ve been dying to read it again for such a long time now, so this is perfect!

I also got a lot of money, underwear and some candy! So yeah, amazing presents. I have the best friends/family, I’m so incredibly grateful :) Life is generally so great at the moment – no more school and exams (my exams went really great btw, except for two that I wasn’t really happy with, but oh well, you can’t have it all right? :P) and in less than a week I am in Berlin with my family – I can’t wait! I’m gonna miss my dog though!! :( Also, tonight I’m going to see Eclipse, which I’m pretty excited about as well! Though, as I said in my last blog post, I wish it were Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows instead, ha ha :P

Two words..

SUMMER BREAK!!!!

(I’m so unbelievably relieved)

6 down, 3 to go!

Which means that I’m finally beginning to really see the light now! I’m of course talking about exams – again!

The only ones left now are English, chemistry and Danish. I’m not too nervous about the English one, but ugh, the chemistry and Danish ones are going to be the death of me! Seriously, I’m so nervous already :( Luckily, the English one is first. It’s actually on June 17th which is also my birthday, so they have to give me an A, right? Anything else would just be totally mean! Ha ha, no really, I so hope I’ll manage to get a good grade! The chemistry exam is on the 21st and I have a big problem; I freaking suck at it. I have so much trouble getting it! But whatever, we’ll see how it goes. The Danish one is on the 23rd and I’m sure I’ll have trouble with that one as well. I’m so not good at analyzing all those weird texts, I always end up misunderstanding them :( But again WHATEVER, I don’t wanna think about that now! There’s so many things to look forward to before that! Some of them:

MY BIRTHDAY! Obviously, ha ha.. But yeah, I’m excited! I don’t feel ready to be 19 though. For some reason it just feels so.. old! I mean, it’s my last year as a teenager (can’t use that excuse for bad behavior much longer now!). But still, birthdays are always great. Lots of amazing food, family gatherings and presents! Good stuff :)

Tv shows! If you know me, you know how big a tv show junkie I am. Seriously, I scare myself sometimes! But not too long ago all of my favorite shows ended as they always do at this time of the year. So I’ve naturally been feeling a bit sad :P But now other amazing shows are starting again! True Blood is finally returning in just a few days and I’m so excited. It has just been so extremely cruel for us fans to have to wait so long for the new season but really, that just makes it even more exciting that the time has finally come! Also, Lie To Me has finally returned which I absolutely love as well. God, I so wish I could read people the way Lightman does! This week I also watched the pilot episode of the new show called Pretty Little Liars which seems amazing so far! So yeah, lots of great television these days! :) I still miss The Vampire Diaries, One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl and many others though! (You’re kinda beginning to see my freakishness, right?)

Mail! I’ve ordered both the Eclipse soundtrack and the new Stephenie Meyer book called The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, which I am both so excited about getting and really, they should be here any day now! I think I have an online shopping problem though. There’s nothing like that feeling you get when you finally get your stuff after waiting impatiently for days!! But whatever, I’m really excited!

Phew, is this blog getting boring and long or what? Buh bye :)

iPhone 4, please be mine!!

(Image belongs to Apple!)

How freaking awesome is the new iPhone going to be?! And this time I’m finally getting one! I’ve wanted one ever since the first one came out but it’s just never been the right time and they are so expensive. But I’ve decided that this is the time, since I really need a new phone anyways. So I’ve already joined the waiting list! I’m so excited!! I’m getting a 32BG white one. Boy, this is going to be great! :D

Exaaaaams…

Sorry, I’ve been MIA for a while now! My head has been so filled with exams and preparations for them :(

So far, I’ve gotten through 2 of them which leaves me with 7 to come. Horrible! But at least I feel like I can see a hint of light at the end of the tunnel now! And I’m sure that after my exam on Wednesday I’ll be feeling a lot better, cause I have exams on both Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday which means that after that there’s only 4 left! But until then, my life seems pretty sucky since it’s all about exams and being exhausted/nervous. Especially Wednesday’s exam is going to be horrible. It’s the math ORAL exam. Only 20 minutes of preparation so I’ll pretty much have to remember everything we’ve learned before the exam. But whatever, I don’t have any use for math anyways!

By the way, I totally forgot to talk about the 2 exams I went through this week. The first one was psychology. It went pretty well considering how bad I felt about it the night before. I was so sure I was going to fail and yeah, I pretty much felt like just staying away from it. But I actually ended up feeling like I pretty much did all that I could and I felt confident in there, so I couldn’t really ask for more of myself. I “only” got a 7 though (it’s the third highest grade, I guess it’s like a B in the US or something!) but I’m perfectly happy with that, so yeah, that one was definitely a success :)

Then there was the one on Friday. The Danish written exam. I don’t think it was the best assignment in the world and the texts were lame but again, I felt like I did my best and if it’s no good then it’s just too bad. I really feel like I couldn’t have done more, so no matter what happens I’ll be happy. So again, success! I just hope the next ones will be the same way!

I feel like this blog is getting a bit rambly (which I’m pretty sure is not even a word). But anyways, the exams next week are: written English, written math and oral math. The first one I’m not too worried about, the next one slightly more and the last one: CHOKE!

But I should probably go now. And sorry that my blogs are so few and very exam-oriented these days! It will get better once the exams are over and my life starts again, ha ha :P

Exams = stress!

Summer is coming. The weather is getting warmer, it’s getting lighter outside and we’re just a little over a month away from summer break, which means going on vacation, getting lots of rest & sleep and not to mention going to the beach, eating ice cream and all that. While all those amazing things should make me happy and excited, they don’t. Because before all the great stuff is coming there’s this thing called exams. Have you ever heard of those? :P
Well, mine start next week and I’m freaking out. And I don’t have to go through just a few, which would be bad enough but I have NINE! Nine freaking exams over a time period of barely a month. God, I don’t know how I’m going to survive. So yeah, because of those nasty little suckers I can’t even look forward to my summer break :( Just to get a bit poetic – it feels like there’s this huge black cloud blocking my sun.

Anyways, here’s a list of the exams I have to endure very soon:
Danish – Both a written and an oral exam.
English – Both a written and an oral exam.
Math – Both a written and an oral exam.
Psychology – One oral exam.
Biology – One oral exam.
Chemistry – One oral exam.

That leaves the following for next year: Religion, Social studies, Geography, History, Psychology on a higher level and one other subject that I haven’t quite chosen yet.

Boy, I’m screwed.

The countries I’ve visited! -part 2

Belgium – Only driven through it one time, so I can’t really say much about it ;)
Czech Republic – Been there on vacation once. Think it was in 2002. We drove there and lived near Prague. It was a great vacation but not really a country that blew me away or anything.
Austria – Been there a couple of times on a short stay or just to drive through it. When I think Austria I think mountains and lots of rain!
France – Was there on vacation in 2003. This was the first and only time I was on a vacation with all my four grandparents, which made it even more amazing! Two years later my grandma died, so it unfortunately never happened again :( But anyways, this is one of my favorite vacations too. We were in Disneyland a couple of days and in Paris! Only negative thing though, was that my sister was really sick a couple of days :s
Hungary – Been there on vacation twice, both times near the Lake Balaton. I think it was in 2004 and 2005. The first time we were there with my uncle and cousins and it was amazing! And everything there was extremely cheap. The second time wasn’t as great. My grandma had died not even a month before so we were all really depressed. And I tripped one day and really sprained my angle so I couldn’t walk right all week. But it was still a great trip!
Italy – I was there for the first time last summer. We stayed a couple of days in Milan and then a week on this huge camp near Venice. It was really great, though the weather was a bit too hot for my taste. But the place was amazing and oh my god, I ate so many awesome pizzas!

Can you believe I’ve never been to Norway??
But anyways, I wish I wasn’t afraid of flying. There’s so many exciting places in the world that I want to see!

The countries I’ve visited! -part 1

Denmark – It’s where I live just in case you didn’t know :P
Morocco – This is the most “exotic” place I’ve been since it’s in Africa but it’s probably the worst vacation I’ve ever been on. We all got sick (and we were 9 people!) in different ways and the weather was awful. So yeah, not my greatest experience, but all the unluckiness made it kinda great in its own way ;) I don’t remember much of it though, I wasn’t even in school yet! It was in 1996 and was a way of celebrating my grandma’s 60th birthday!
Spain – Gran Canaria to be exact (island). In 1998 – this time celebrating my other grandma’s 50th birthday. This is definitely one of the best vacations I’ve ever been on, even though I was quite young so the memories are a bit blurry. But yeah, it was amazing! The weather, the place and not to mention the people! We were 13 people going (unlucky number!) and we’d rented three apartments, which is a lot but all the people just made it so much more special. It really was amazing!
Greece – Rhodes to be exact (island). In 2000 – this time celebrating my grandpa’s 60th birthday. This was the last vacation I’ve been on where we flew. We had a bad flight home so I kinda think that has something to do with the fear of flying I’m so lucky to have now :( But this was such an amazing vacation too!
Sweden – A looooong time ago. I’ve been to Gothenburg a couple of times but I was so young that I don’t remember much of it. And also I’ve been on a train from Malmö to Ystad as I was going to Bornholm.
Germany – I’ve driven through Germany so many times!! And I’m actually going to Berlin this summer :)
Holland – I’ve been there several times. One time on vacation (2008) and other times just driven through it as we were going other places. When we were there in 2008 we stayed at this camp where there was an amusement park inside. And we saw Amsterdam and The Hague. Great trip, but the weather was disastrous.

I’ll post part 2 tomorrow..
